Child - Future Leader

About Us

Dr. K. Staten - Founder/President of Kiyoko Akelia Staten Youth Institute, Inc. (KASYI) - University of Maryland Professor (Training & Performance Improvement) - US Air Force Veteran.

KASYI was established in November 2017 in memory of my first born daughter who passed away from SIDS while my husband and I were stationed in Germany. It is my God-given vision to help young people understand their value and purpose in life; to live life on purpose and with purpose while helping others.

Our Mission

Our mission is to nurture the natural entrepreneurial spirit that we all are born with through positive mindset, life skills, & financial literacy with a focus on technology...shifting from consumers to prosumers of technology to solve global problems. Our Youth Development Program targets ages 14-24 youth (especially at-risk and underrepresented youth).

We believe that we are all born with creativity and purpose. KASYI aims to nurture a child's natural born abilities to bring them into fruition. KASYI programs focus on educating, equipping, supporting, and training Youthpreneurs.

Financial Literacy

The future is here. Money is changing rapidly...driven by technology innovations. It is crucial for youth to learning how money works: how to make it, keep it and grow it. KASYI believes that a solid foundation in money matters is critical for youth to make sound and informed decisions.

Life Skills

Due to the information age, unfiltered information is easily accessible via the Internet, which has caused problems -cyberbullying, and other negative consequences affecting children in the modern age -making it hard to cope. KASYI offers real-life skills empowerment: Time Management (Manage Thy Self), Money Management, Communication, Positive Self-image Development, Growth Mindset & Self-improvement, Stress Management.
